hi ! I m Siamac :-) but tell me, what s your name again ?

This morning the whole class (49 students so far) met in our dedicated classroom in the building with those paddle-like stairs. We had a nice continental breakfast before the beginning of a whole morning of slides explaining what we are going to study :

*- Maths (stochastic analysis for finance, computational finance)
*- Engineering (financial engineering, stochastic processes, continuous optimization)
*- Finance (portfolio analysis and investments, fixed income securities and markets, options and futures corp decision making)
All finance classes are taught at the Business School with some MBA students.
Engineering is taught on North Campus, this is where we are for the summer class.
Maths classes are taught at the LSA (college of Litterature Science and Arts)

Lots of students are from China and India. There are only 10 US students. There is 23%female/87%male (which is still better than Supelec). Lots of students have already worked (internships or "CESURES"). Some are really old compared to us : 30 or so.

Actually I was completely lost with the way you have to register for classes on the university's website. It s so different compared to supelec... Fortunately with Yann and PJ we recollected what each of us had understood and I think we have now a better idea of how the registration process works.

For lunch we went to U of M recreational area : the university have their own park ! So we had lunch there, we tried to get along with the other students (from China, India, Korea, Parkistan, Germany, Romania, France, Thailand or so).
It was not that hard to break the ice, except maybe for some shy Chinese girls who were sticking together.
From 1:30PM to 5:00PM we had lots of funny team building activities in the outdoor. Even though they needed very simple materials, it is very hard to explain them since the rules were a bit tricky and intricate.

At 5:00PM I went back home and then went to the South Campus pool. I eventually went to the fitness center to have more and more muscles ;-) This is where PJ and Yann joined me.
We finally went to a Chinese restaurant before we watched a Simpsons DVD in my apartment.

Tomorrow's class is gonna be : "ethics" ;-) I'll tell you more about that tomorrow night =)
By the way, any suggestions for the next opinion poll ?

Simple math to start your summer classes siamac: 83 + 27 > 100

^^

Sorry I can't help it, I HAVE to insist on insignificant details.

Talking about girls... Is there one there who could look like future-Mrs Mirzaïe ?? I am eager to know your first impressions about them !

Laurent (too bad I cannot write the pronounciation as well) you are deadly right... Actually I wrote that post in a hurry last night after that big day ;-) This is why I made this VERY BIG mistake :-(
The correct answer is 77%/23%.

As far as mrs Mirzaïe is concerned, nothing so far ;-)
I have a rendez vous with 3 girls tonight, hopefully they ll be here. I ll let you know about it in more details if anything happens ;-)

take care
