Thoughts about food...

Since I arrived here I've been wondering: how come do you want to eat snacks at any time of the day (or of the night like now) when being in the US?

It's like wherever you go there s a vending machine, there s someone sipping coke in a BK cup, there s the smell of a BBQ party getting started... hmmm and all this processed and fast food, it s soo tasty (except sugar free products), even if at the same time it s not very healthy...
They re really good at making you eat anything at anytime of the day...

Let me know if you ve been experiencing this same kind of feelings !

Weekend

After a week full of Statistics, interview skills, resume writing, dress for success and salary negotiation skills courses, we planned a beer pong party on Friday night.
Several guys came over to my house to try beer pong for the first time in their life. This game is very popular here in the US, but completely unknown in France. For more details look for "beer pong" on wikipedia (it will help you to kill the time at EDF Alex ;-) )

Once you've found out about the game (I do not explain it here on purpose so that I do not hurt some people's feelings ^^) you may understand what the following pictures are about :

You did well man ! By the way, I am looking forward to meeting you at your new apartment ;-)

Tuesday night

After so much homework during the past few days, PJ, Yann and myself had decided to take a break to go to a bar on Tuesday night. We went first to Charley's on South University were there was a "friendship wedding" between two girls who were two best friends.

Without anything they made us part of the celebration and the three of us got a plastic fork with chocolate on it as a memory of this celebration.

Here is a picture of the father of one of the "brides".

For those who went to supelec, doesn t he remind you someone ? I am looking forward to reading your suggestions ;-)
At the end, that guy and the two brides were drunk and they started singing for a karaoke session.

By the time we were sitting at the bar, two girls right beside us started talking to us. Jessica and Quyet. After some chitchat they left this note on a napkin :

Yann and myself went there. It was a bar with a dance floor and lots of people drinking and dancing... man, it was hot ! (more details in private haha) ;-)

We had a good time on the whole. It is great to feel like you re starting to behave like local people and to meet new friends. I m sure we ll have the opportunity to do it again next weekend.

Thank you !

(Actually my sister Sarah is in Montreal right now. It was so nice to hear from you ^^)

Love Saturdays !

Okay, yesterday was saturday, that is the day the students of the program have all been waiting for. It is so good to be on a weekend after "6" days of classes ( rather 5 because actually we have no classes on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons).

See, at 10:15 am, PJ was already in a mood to rock and roll all day long !!

Hey Sarah, after classes we went to an IMAX theater to see Harry Potter !!
We had to wear these glasses to see in 3D but it was only for 15 minutes in the movie :-(
Anyway, we went there with 3 James bond girls haha

Here are the james bond boys ;-)

In the evening we joined a group of other classmates at the Buffalo Wild Wings (remember this is where they had these TVs in the restrooms)

Handsome aviator
(sorry girls, he s about to start a relationship with a james bond girl hahaha)

Another handsome aviator
(sorry girls, he s also about to start a relationship)

PJ and Farhan playing darts (I had nearly broken their machine to play dart by inserting two coins that had eventually got stuck in the slot. An employee came to push down the coins with a knife but he broke the blade of the plastic knife into the slot and things got even worse :-s)
Please notice the concentration of the challengers and the fluency of the gesture which are key points if victory is your objective.

Actually I preferred this game (especially after what happened with the coins and the blade in the slot of the dart machine haha) where you had to hunt deers in the woods!! :-D (Correct, I m that kind of basic down to earth little boy...)

After drinking

(conclusion : do NOT drink alcohol)
