Last days of vacation in Ann Arbor

Today I went to the pool near by with Yann. It was rather hot so it we really enjoyed it. Specially there was one of these double loop water slides. I guess I rode it between 15 and 20 times !!

The water was warm, it was a 50 meter outdoor pool. We tried to get along with one of these female lifeguards with their glamor big sunglasses. Yann tried to take a picture of me and one of these girls but she would not accept since she was on duty :'(

Anyway, we relaxed, sunbathed, it was nice actually. The pool was right near by Huron River next to a Park and along the university medical center.

Later on we joined PJ on central campus and visited some of the buildings of the university. It was so great... Here are some pictures of what the inside looked like...

Study loundge

Art loundge. There's a piano farther on the left side.

Hallway

They replaced their pay phones by computer for instant messenging !!

Waiting room, rather cozy nope ?

This is the game room so that students can relax and take a break playing billiard, foosball or boardgames

This is a hall either for conferences, dancing or concerts.

Yann and myself are sitting in a room with he pictures of all the deans of the university.

One of the several cafeterias. This one has 6 different fast foods. On the same floor you would find travel agency, ATMs, sport and theater ticketing... The place where you eat this very nice. It s all made of wood. Upstairs there was a 19th century style cafeteria with a café.

The biggest computer lab I have ever seen before.... It looks like that kind of trading floors you can see at the stock exchange :p

I like that class room. The chairs were very comfortable. You could tilt them and spin around yourself...
Janet auditorium was nothing compared to this :p

Unfortunately, classroom is not everything :-(

Another auditorium with Janet style armchairs this time

It doesn' t look like a school, does it ?

Another entrance

You would expect a vending machine to be stuffed with sodas or snacks. Here it sells pens, pencils, and even USB keys !!

After this walk through some of the buildings, we went downtown to eat at that grill&bar restaurant with lots of screens everywhere inside it.
We had dinner there and we ordered some traditional chicken wings with hot sauces... it was very hot but I guess we all liked it :-) (it may be masochistic in a certain way XD )

It was quieter than the day before since it was sunday night.

Here's the hot chicken. JP, I m sure you must have liked this one.

Sorry Alex, it was prime time so there was no porn :-(

Downtown street

A broad range of movies : from patriotic to French friendly films

The city is very safe. This car was only caught for unauthorized parking XD

Yesterday was Ann Arbor summer festival last day. On that occasion they set up an outdoor theater in the campus =)
The movie was Night at the museum

Incredible ! The campus is sooo big and the facilities amazing. The study lobby is really beautiful and the computer lab makes me think of a giant LAN party...

I'm also quite surprised by the amount of screens there is everywhere, this is madness, no this is USA !!! ;)

I had the chance to spend some times in different colleges 20 years ago! (I feel old...) I visited and slept on different campuses like Yale, Cornell..Colleges were beautiful and even if students were working a lot, they had a lot of fun!
I think you are going to spend a great time in Ann Arbor, enjoy!
